Is the Immigration Debate a Joke?

I know I’m late to this party but there are so many things to be said. These people just do not get it. Their condescension of Stephen Colbert makes me cringe. The argument that these issues are important and therefore humor cannot be interjected to draw attention to said issues is lazy. Modern American politics are a circus, so why can’t Colbert draw attention to an issue that would otherwise go essentially unnoticed by the American public at large? And this coming from Megyn Kelly, someone who masquerades her opinion as fact to millions of people every day.

Watch this clip of Colbert breaking character at the hearing and explaining why he cares about the issue of migrant workers in the first place. It’s much more genuine than anything anyone at Fox News will ever have to say.
